The national economy is causing the county’s tax receipts to fall, but the Department is shuffling personnel and reprioritizing its activities to ensure that we keep the pressure up on the bad guys so residents stay safe.

The Department has arrested two men in connection with recent armed robberies in a sweep of Major Road.
As part of the ongoing investigation, officers are trying to determine whether the suspects arrested Saturday may be linked to three recent attacks in the area against women. The two are charged with robbing a pizza deliveryman and a taxi cab driver.

The Department is currently taking applications for the new Volunteers In Patrol (V.I.P.) program. This is a non-confrontational neighborhood patrol program that the Department is kicking off as part of the Department's Interactive Community Policing strategy.
